The Pee Dee Region of South Carolina includes five counties in the
northeastern corner of the state: Florence, Darlington, Marlboro, Dillon,
and Marion. This land of verdant swamps and black water
creeks draws its name from the Great Pee Dee and Little Pee Dee rivers which run
through the area. The Pee Dee is a rural area with lots of farming and a wealth
of biodiversity. Click this picture for a sign of the times.
We meet the first Thursday of the month, September through May at 7 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1201 Cherokee Road, Florence. Statement of purpose: To explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth; to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use lawful means to carry out these objectives. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
