The Pee Dee Region of South Carolina includes five counties in the northeastern corner of the state: Florence, Darlington, Marlboro, Dillon,  and Marion.  This land of verdant swamps and black water creeks draws its name from the Great Pee Dee and Little Pee Dee rivers which run through the area. The Pee Dee is a rural area with lots of farming and a wealth of biodiversity. Click this picture for a sign of the times.
