The Pee Dee Sierra club first group outing took place at the the Clemson Outdoor Education Trail.  Dr. Jim Frederick and wildlife biologist T. J. Sazereno led us around the area. The Pee Dee group is a sponsor of the trail which will help local school children and other groups develop an appreciation for ecology and the interrelationships of plants and animals in several different habitats represented by the trail. David Wach, co-chair of outings was the official leader. Nature cooperated with numerous bird sightings including at least one: blue bird, pine warbler ,cardinal,  Baltimore oriole, spotted sandpiper, bald eagle, egret, blue heron, cowbird, anhinga, kingfisher, crow, blue jay, redstart, downy woodpecker, blue bird and a barred owl that looked down upon us form high in a loblolly pine. Pictures by David Wach.
